Interior Trends for 2016

2016 interior design trends include a white and neutral color pallets with contrasting light natural woods.

Kitchen Trends

- Two larger island pendants (no more mini pendants)

- Farmer Sinks

- White marble or quartz counter tops

- Painted cabinets

- White subway tile backsplash

- Upper wall shelves instead of cabinets

Antique brass and copper are the latest in metal finishes to use for cabinetry hardware, and lighting finishes.

White natural finishes are also popular in bathrooms. Larger 12x 24 or 24x24 tile for the floor and shower areas. Fixed shower glass panels are taking the place of a shower curtain or door. I really like this idea because it makes a smaller bathroom feel a lot bigger.

Earth tones and neutral colors are even popular in home furnishings and accessories. Linen upholstery, mixed with natural woods, white accents, with muted pops of color.

Flooring trends:

Gray, weathered, reclaimed or a reclaimed look, or even a faux wood made in a porcelain tile and in a wider plank style.

For carpet: Low, cut-and-loop, in which the pile is partly cut and partly looped to create a sculpted look or patterns.
